Dr. Awad is the Medical Director of the Desert Regional Medical Center Bariatric Program. He was named by Castle Connelly in the Palm Springs Life 2015 as one of the “Top Doctor” in Bariatric Surgery. He believes in a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure the best possible outcome and long term weight loss for the bariatric patient. Weight loss surgery allows for resolution of many weight related comorbidities resulting in improvement of health problems such as hypertension, diabetes or sleep apnea. He also has maintained surgical expertise in general surgery including gallbladder, anti-reflux, hernia repair as well as gastrointestinal and colon cancer surgery.
