How Does Telemedicine Work?
You will be seen by one of our medical providers via a digital camera connection. You will be able to show them any area of concern and talk with them in real time to receive treatment recommendations and get your questions answered. If any prescription medications are recommended, we will call those into your local pharmacy just as before. If a situation requires an in-person visit to perform a biopsy, we will coordinate those arrangements with you directly on a case-by-case basis. We are using Doxy.me to schedule these appointments. Doxy.me can be accessed on any digital device including a Smartphone, iPad, laptop or desktop computer. Some follow up visits may be able to be conducted as phone consultations.
Is telemedicine HIPAA compliant?
Yes. Our telemedicine patient visits are HIPAA compliant.
How do I schedule a telemedicine appointment?
To schedule a telemedicine appointment, call (760) 423-4000 just like you normally would or click the request appointment online button on our website. You do not need a Doxy.me account, but you will need our provided link to your Doxy.me appointment. When you call our front desk, they will make sure you are sent that link by email in advance. We suggest that you click that link about 10 minutes prior to your designated appointment time to make sure you are set on your end – to “join the video call” and to test the volume of the microphone on your digital device. Once you have the link, you will simply type in your name and click “check in."
What are your telemedicine hours?
We will be scheduling telemedicine appointments from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.Is telemedicine covered by insurance?
Yes! All of the private insurances we accept as well as Medicare will cover telemedicine visits.
